Meet the Crawford Accountants staff
Richard Bishop ACPA
Richard joined Edward Leask Chartered Accountants straight from college in 1977. He was involved in all areas of general practice during his training, including accounts, tax and audit. In 1985 Richard joined Crawford Accountants, becoming a partner in 1988 and subsequently a director in 2008 when the firm was incorporated. Richard deals with all aspects of his clients’ financial affairs, as well as being responsible for the management of the practice.
Mark Burton FCA
Mark commenced his training with Grant Thornton, an international firm of accountants. Working predominantly in audit, he gained a broad experience of different business sectors. After qualifying in 1992, Mark joined a local firm in general practice, with offices throughout the south of England. In this role, he worked closely with owner-managers and was involved in a wide variety of business activities. In 2008 Mark joined Crawford Accountants and deals with a range of tax and other financial matters.
Anne Phillips
Anne worked for Barclays Bank from 1963 to 1979, firstly dealing with probate in the Trustees’ Department, then as a member of the Taxation Division preparing tax returns. During a career-break to look after her young children, Anne also gained an HNC in Financial Studies. In 1985 Anne joined Crawford Accountants to assist with both accounting and tax, but the tax workload increased and eventually prevailed. Anne is now responsible for the practice’s tax compliance and company secretarial work.
Wendy Baker
Wendy joined Crawford Accountants in 1980 as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk. Since then she has worked with many different clients and types of business, building up a number of long-standing professional relationships along the way. Today Wendy continues to split her time between bookkeeping and payroll services, and still acts for a number of her original clients and their offspring.
Michael Bishop
Michael joined the practice in 2008 after leaving college. He assists in the preparation of accounts for clients, and is responsible for most of the administrative duties in the office. Michael has commenced his accountancy studies, and is working towards a professional qualification in due course.
